Cordura does melt, but the tailor who sewed up my cordura chaps lined them with a heavy cotton material. I wear a Alpinestars jacket and find it is much more comfortable in all weather conditions than leather. Jacket is yellow and black and a close match for my 96. Folks give me a hard time when I go in stores here with the jacket on, when it is over 100 (but dry) out, but understand why I don't leave it on the bike while parked. Too expensive and time concuming to replace. Took months to get orginally.
